Reaction- To Die in Jerusalem

I sympathize for each mother and the families of the departed daughters.  I do not however sympathize for the governments of both nations.  I firmly believe that this terrible, horrific and sad situation should be an example to both governments about what is going on and what needs to be done.  The future of more lives, families, daughters and mothers are on the line.

  1. Hey Louis- I agree with you. According to the video both women are "victims of the Israeli state". I think this issue is barbaric and makes humanity look bad and even primitive in their tactics. I may have this opinion because I have never experience such oppression due to occupation and I have never had my right taken away from me, but just from watching this video and visually grasping what it is that is going on over there, i think its a shame that so many lives have been lost in vain.

  2. At the risk of sounding like a big follower, I completely agree that the citizens of both states are suffering for (what should be) a strictly government conflict. The family of the suicide bomber claimed that "occupation changes the way boys and girls think." I interpret that to mean that constant and brutal military presence in the lives of both Palestinian and Israelis can potentially change their fundamental natures. Human suffering is a very real and very prevalent problem in this area of the world (as is clearly demonstrated through the documentary) and it is simply inhumane for the two governments to continue engaging in the conflict

  3. Louis' last sentence about how in the "future of more lives, families, daughters and mothers are on the line" is completely accurate and goes along well with what George Bush was quoted as saying the the film that both Palestine and Israel's futures are dying. It's easy to say from our stand point, but I find it incredibly sad that people can be so manipulated. Granted we are taught in this country to have strong minds and wills, but in some ways I feel that is an innate distinction of human beings, and to be convinced to kill not only yourself but other harmless civilians for a "cause" is unimaginable.

  4. i totally agree with you louis, the situation between the two nations has to be solved, don't you wonder, why is the rest of the earth is not doing anything about it, while they have thhe absolut power to do so. hope one day this holy land, will be holy again, and god will give mercy to people who lives there, but letting them live in peace, with each others.

  5. The suffering is happening on both ends and I agree that you should sympthaize with the people of these nations. However I don't think that the Palestinian government has any say in this situation. Nor do their people for that matter. Your last sentence is powerful because your absolutly right more innocent bystanders will be affected and more martyrs will arise thanks to the occupation that is inflicted upon them.

  6. I couldn't agree more. What happened to both of these families is not only sad, its tragic. I cannot believe that people would are willing to blow up not only themselves, but risk the lives of other people to prove something. They need to talk it out and resolve this problem with no violence. Both sides have different thoughts and opinions and they should be heard.
